Who is required to file an Income Tax Return?
Generally, every individual whose total income exceeds the basic exemption limit, every company, and every firm is mandatorily required to file an Income Tax Return (ITR). There are also other prescribed conditions, if met, which require mandatory filing of ITR.
Who is liable to obtain GST registration?
Businesses whose aggregate turnover exceeds the threshold limit of ₹40 Lakhs (for goods) or ₹20 Lakhs (for services) in a financial year are generally required to register for GST. These figures vary depending on the state/UT. There are also other factors to consider such as inter state supply.
What are the due dates for GST returns?
GST return due dates vary based on the type of return and the taxpayer’s category. For most taxpayers, GSTR-1 is due by the 11th of the following month, and GSTR-3B is due by the 20th.
How do I respond to an Income Tax notice?
Income Tax notices must be responded to through the e-Proceedings portal on the Income Tax website. It is advisable to consult a professional to draft a legally accurate reply based on the specific section cited in the notice.
